Besolve me of my sins [Part 10]
[Darrel Besolve is in his private dressing room backstage staring at the open case. Inside the suitcase, he packed and brought carefully to the arena were the original BACW heavyweight championship and FTF championship belts. The two titles were unified the night he beat the Megafreak the first time. Mr. Batee was going to just toss them aside, but the Boy Wonder purchased both belts and kept them for his personal trophy case. He never even had the nameplates changed. The FTF title belt still had the name of The Megafreak plastered on it and the BACW title said Darrel Besolve.]
[The No Holds Barred stipulation of the night meant that the match would be bloodier even than their first meeting. Having never been polished or wiped, the belts still had both men’s blood smeared on them; if only remember by the thinnest of dried streaks. They were fingerprinted badly, had lost their shine over time, but they were the exact artifacts from their original battle. They proved it was real, they proved the blood was real, they proved that Teddy wasn’t 100% correct.]
[Teddy would have him believe that all the battles were merely figments of his imagination that had maturated and taken a live of their own over time. “Just fights” were the words that echoed in his head as he stared at those belts. But he knew what Teddy didn’t, he was the one in the ring with the unstoppable force in the past, he was the one who had done battle with the greatest and stepped out victorious, he was the one who was considered the mighty conqueror.]
[And for the conqueror there stood one last dragon, one last monster, one last FREAK. The one who once wore that belt had cast a shadow over his career, had given the doubters fodder for almost a decade, and now redemption was in his grasp.]
[Knock, Knock]
BACW Security: Everything is in place. Are you ready, Mr. Besolve?
[He stood up and he knew, unlike nine years ago, that he could answer that question honestly.]
Besolve: Yeah, I’m ready…
[Knocking his fists together as he stands, he takes one look at himself in the mirror, plasters on his unshakable smirk and wraps himself in the sequin-covered wrestling robe…]
[For the Ringmaster, For the Freak, For our Hero…IT’S SHOWTIME.]
Battle of the Legends: [Part 11]
The Megafreak
Vs.
Darrel Besolve
[The anticipation within the arena is at a fevered pitch. Everyone is back from the concession stands and awaiting the arrival of their hero. Superman had gone through Ross and Ulfric last week, but this was…even more Herculean. The idea of Besolve-Megafreak 3 had even the cynics clamoring for tickets.]
Promo: This is already starting to feel like a pay-per-view main event.
E.D: What? If this were a PPV, Paul, I’d be making double.
Promo: You make double for PPVs?
E.D: Ah…no, never mind. Seriously, Paul, you need an agent.
[The blue and gold laser light show begins to dance around the arena, then the lights go dim except for the showing rays. Thousands of lights all gather at the base of the entrance ramp and two figures appear from the back…]
Promo: HELLO!
[Teddy Valentine walks out in a grey Armani suit and a pink tie. He is carrying the old FTF heavyweight championship belt in his hand. He walks to the far left side of the ramp, holding the belt in the air. Alexis Besolve, dressed in a navy cheerleader’s uniform, exactly as she had been all those years ago, is carrying the original BACW heavyweight title.]
Promo: Can we even show those?
E.D: Show ‘em? That is the only pair of Besolves I like!
Promo: I mean the belts, Eric.
E.D: You mean to tell me Alexis Besolve is in a cheerleader outfit and you are looking at her belt. I choose to look a bit north…
Promo: Enough, Eric. I suppose Ewrestling.org and the NAWA own the rights to BACW, so they can show anything they want. It should be noted though, fans, that Chris Ross, NOT Darrel Besolve, is the current BACW champion.
E.D: [Panting] Will you please shut the hell up? I am taking a visual picture for my spank-bank, ya prick.
#I AM IRONMAN!!!
[And on cue the only true living legend, the guaranteed highlight of the night, the mid-Michigan monster, the Armani-suit-wearing-freak-of-fucking-nature, the not-so-silent warrior, the real lord of the rings, your hero and mine, Superman himself, Darrel Besolve appears from behind the curtain.]
Promo: Listen to these fans! This place is gonna explode.
[Besolve is wearing a navy blue robe with golden sequins around the body as trim. The sequins come together to spell Darrel Besolve across the back. Holding his arms out to the side, he smirks widely and spins for the crowd. Alexis then steps to his side, locks arms with him, and Teddy steps to his opposite side and gives a nod to his boss. Team Besolve, in its original form and splendor, marches to the ring as one.]
E.D: All this nostalgia is making me ill.
Promo: Oh come on, Eric, the fans are eating this up.
E.D.: Morbis was right…mind slaves.
Promo: Huh?
E.D: Never mind, it’s over your head.
[Standing at the ring steps, Besolve holds out his arms and Alexis removes the robe from his body.]
Promo: Besolve looks amazing! He’s like a Greek god…
E.D: Do you remember not caring when Alexis Besolve walked out?
Promo: Eric, not everything is about…
E.D: No, no, you had no response to a supermodel in a mini-skirt, but you called a grown man a Greek god. Come out of the closet, Paul, it’s the ‘in’ thing to do for you butt boys.
Promo: There is nothing I hate worse in my entire life than working with you.
E.D: What about boobs? I know you hate them too.
[As the referee checks Besolve out for weapons and such, the ex-champion begins his pre-match stretching. Slowly, he retires to his corner and awaits the arrival of his nemesis…]
[A lime emerald glow engulfs the arena and ring announcer Michael Stuffher looks on with a cautious eye. Trying to muster the courage, he can do nothing about his dry throat and palms moist. Shaking from the pure fear shooting through his skeleton, he tries to keep his composure in light of what's about to cross the threshold a mere 50 yards from where he is standing.]
Stuffher: And his opponent... Accompanied to the ring by his father Edgar Morbis... He is the BACW's 9th Wonder of the World! From the Pacific Islands... Behold, the most awesome creature to ever step inside a BACW ring! THE MEGAFREAK!
[As the Smashing Pumpkins tremble throughout the arena, the curtain is brutally torn off it's clips. Raining down from the apex of the entranceway, the velvet fabric hits the metal grating and taking a moment to catch your breath at his massive size, the crowd explodes like a nuclear weapon.]
The Megafreak: [With the curtains firm in his grasp] ARGH!!!!!
Crowd: Welcome back! Welcome back! Welcome back!
[Pounding the ground with his massive feet, the sweat can be seen dripping from Besolve's forehead.]
Edgar Morbis: [Jumping up and down] This is it my monster! The time for vengeance is now upon us! Go my child, and demonstrate to humankind why you will by no means be second best to a commoner!
[Stepping over the top rope with fire in his eyes and smoke bellowing from his jowls, the referee quickly calls for the match to begin.]
Referee: Ring the bell!
[Ding! Ding! Ding!]
Promo: The bell rings and the two most prolific wrestlers in BACW history close in on one another. I can’t believe this is really happening.
E.D: IN COMING!!!!
[Besolve immediately chops into the big man with an inside leg kick. He quickly snaps out a jab and follows it up with a right cross. The Freak attempts to fire back, but Darrel easily sidesteps the barreling hulk and delivers another solid inside leg kick. The Monster swings his right arm again, but this time Besolve ducks and throws himself into a vicious uppercut. The Freak’s head snaps back for a moment, then he just keeps coming forward, seemingly unaffected by the blows.]
The Megafreak: NO!!!!
Edgar Morbis: YES MY BEAST! YES!
Promo: You name me anybody walking God’s Green Earth that takes that shot and not be effected. Besolve just CRUSHED him with that punch and the massive thing didn’t even flinch.
E.D: That's why they call him The Megafreak.
[Besolve, on the back peddle, throws a DEVASTATING right-legged head kick, the force of which makes him spin completely around. The Megafreak’s body goes one step to the right from the impact, but when Besolve is facing him again—the Freak attacks. Reaching down below his waist, and then swinging upward, he lands an up-swinging back fist that throws Besolve into the corner.]
Darrel Besolve: [Crippling to the ground like a piece of crumpled up paper] UGH!
Edgar Morbis: [Jumping up and down already] YES! YES! SHOW HIM!
[Reaching out with his left hand, The Megafreak begins to choke Darrel and then with his free right hand, he throws a savage shot that snaps our hero’s head backward.]
Crowd: [OH!]
[Besolve’s hands go to his throat, but he can’t seem to free himself of the Freak’s grip. In an assault that would make an aircraft team blush, The Megafreak begins swinging his tree trunk-like arm faster than ever seen before, sledge hammering Besolve directly in the mouth.]
E.D: Mother of God—look at ‘em go!
Promo: Darrel Besolve is eating those punches like M&M and he's going to spit Chicklets in return!
[Without rules, the Freak does not have to stop punching and he shows no intention of relenting…]
E.D: He’s cut!
Promo: Besolve’s mouth is already broken open here in the opening stages of the match! His eye is swelling and nose might even be broken!
[The steely taste of his own blood seems to wake Besolve from his choked slumber and he steps forward with a body shot from hell. The Freak takes a step back and Darrel throws his weight around in a tornado; reversing the position on the Freak and cornering him against the turnbuckle. He swats the Freak’s arm away to break the choke and throws himself into the second turnbuckle. Locking the Megafreak’s left arm behind the monster using the top rope, Besolve begins raining down right hands into the masked-face of the monster.]
E.D: They’re trying to kill each other!
Promo: Besolve just dropped an elbow that even made Morbis wince on the outside but inside the ring, The Megafreak seems unaffected!
[In a fit of desperation, the monster shoves Besolve off the rope, and off of him, with his free right arm. Freed from his predicament, he continues forward, knowing no other style, but all-out offense. After landing, Besolve steps forward and throws all his weight behind…]
E.D: BESOLVE BLASTER!
Promo: I’ve never seen him use it that early before!
[The Megafreak staggers backward into the corner, then coiled like a great serpent, he springs forward and lands a vaulting right hand into Besolve’s face. The Boy Wonder flies backward, flat on his back.]
E.D: Did he just…?
Promo: He did. The Besolve Blaster had absolutely NO effect on the beast from the South Pacific.
[Besolve is back on his feet and as the Megafreak continues to come forward, we appear almost right back where we began.]
E.D: Besolve is helpless and the Freak is unstoppable! I love it!
Promo: This one is ALREADY living up to the hype.
[Besolve lunges forward and lands a thundering superman punch on the Meagfreak, who seems to be impervious to pain. The force with which he threw the punch leaves Darrel off balance and the Megafreak is able to step behind him…]
Edgar Morbis: YES, MY SON—NOW!!!! NNNNNOOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!!!!
[The Megafreak wraps his arm around Darrel’s neck and locks in a sleeper hold…]
Promo: This is how the first fight almost ended.
[The Freak begins applying all of his force to the glorified triangle choke. Besolve begins to panic, grabbing the Monster’s arms and trying to pull free. Unable to break the Freak’s grip, Besolve slowly starts to fade.]
E.D: I can’t believe this…
Promo: This might be the end for the Boy Wonder!
E.D: He's going to have to start drinking again!
[Zooming in, Alexis Besolve begins pounding the mat.]
Alexis Besolve: You can do it!
Crowd: Let’s go Darrel! clap-clap-clapclapclap! Let’s go Darrel! clap-clap-clapclapclap! Let’s go Darrel! clap-clap-clapclapclap!
Promo: Besolve, hearing his wife and the crowd begin to rally, seems to draw from their strength and he runs backward into the corner.
[The Freak is rocked, but does not relinquish the hold. Darrel takes three steps forward, then throws himself, and the Freak, back into the turnbuckle. This almost breaks the hold...]
Promo: The Freak will not be denied!
E.D: It looks like this is it! No J.P., no way out!
[Besolve reaches up, wraps his hands around the Freak’s head and neck, then leans forward, throwing both he and the Freak into a summersault Judo throw and causing both their combined weight to land on the Freak’s neck. Sure enough, he lets go of the sleeper and Besolve spins around into the full mounted position. He begins thundering down punches from on high and the Megafreak does not know how to respond. Having never been in this position in his entire career, the Megafreak is getting bombed on with elbows and punches.]
The Megafreak: ROAR!!!
Alexis Besolve: Come on baby!!!!
[The man-monster howls out from the force of the punches…]
E.D: Oh come on now, don’t do that!
Promo: Edgar Morbis has his cane cocked and he is closing in fast on Alexis Besolve.
Edgar Morbis: SILENCE YOU BITCH!!!!
Darrel Besolve: [Wide eyed] LEXI!!!! NO!!!!
[CRACK!]
Alexis Besolve: [UGH!]
Crowd: [BOO!]
[Alexis Besolve crumbles to the ground after taking a brutal cane shot to the back of her head. Morbis turns his demented eyes toward the ring and sees that Besolve saw what just transpired.]
Crowd: Asshooole! Asshooole! Asshooole!
Darrel Besolve: MORBIS!!!!!!
[True to their word, Besolve relinquishes his position on the monster and rushes out of the ring. He lands a vicious right hand on Morbis, who is ill-equipped to defend himself. Besolve boots him in the stomach and steps forward…]
Darrel Besolve: [Snapping] Argh! Argh! AAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!
E.D: Besolve has lost it!
Promo: I have never seen Darrel Besolve so angry!
[Besolve lifts Morbis up and...]
[MOTHER-FN-CRACK!]
[SPLATTER]
[POP!]
[...brings him down with a Light of Judgment on the concrete!!!]
Promo: OH MY GOOD GAWD!!!!
E.D: Edgar Morbis is dead!
Crowd: Bad ASS Wrestlin! Bad ASS Wrestlin! Bad ASS Wrestlin!
The Megafreak: FATHER!!!!
[Wailing aggressively as his feet hit the concrete floor; the Meagfreak is in a blind rage as he saw his demented father hit with the most devastating move in professional wrestling history. Pumped full of hate-fueled adrenaline, the Monster lifts Besolve into the air with a double-fisted choke.]
Promo: Besolve is in trouble!
[Tossing Besolve like a rag doll into the steel post, the ring moves about three inches from the impact of the throw. Besolve stumbles forward from the impact and the Megafreak locks him in a one-handed choke, then spins around...]
[CRAAAAAACK!!]
Crowd: [NO!]
[...to plant Besolve THROUGH THE ANNOUNCER’S TABLE WITH A CHOKESLAM!!!]
Promo: Oh, my notes are ruined!
[The Megafreak reaches down and lifts what is left of Darrel Besolve back to his feet. He carelessly shoves him back under the bottom rope and then climbs into the ring after him. Once in the ring, the Megafreak kneels beside Darrel and begins dropping downward bombs to the back of his head and neck.]
Promo: Besolve looks to be out of it but listen to this "Pro-Besolve" crowd get behind the Boy Wonder!
E.D: Who can blame him?
Crowd: Let’s go Darrel! Clap-Clap-ClapClapClap
[The Megafreak lifts Darrel to his feet and sends him barreling into the corner with little more than a Frisbee throw. Besolve hits the corner like a ton of bricks...]
[THUD!]
Darrel Besolve: UGH!
[...and then the Megafreak reels in after him unleashing a devastating clothesline. Besolve crumbles onto himself in the corner, but then, as the Freak draws back to swing again, Besolve’s eyes snap open and he strikes first with a punch directly to the chin.]
Promo: Where is he getting this energy from?
E.D: Who knows, but he can’t have much more of it left, no one could. This Freak is massive and without fear!
Promo: The Freak recovers and continues to press the offensive.
[The Megafreak returns fire with a punch that rocks Besolve’s head back. The force of the blow seems to wake Darrel up the rest of the way instead of make him fade away and he comes out of the corner behind a barrage of lefts and rights. The Megafreak is bewildered by the speed with which the punches are landing and is having a hard time trying to react. The Monster is stumbling backward from the impact of the blows. Darrel lunges into the air and connects with another Besolve Blaster but this time to the ribs.]
Promo: The Freak is Hurt!!!
E.D: No, he can’t be!
[Besolve spins forward and lands a brutal roaring elbow to the man in the mask and the Freak falls flat on his back from the impact. Besolve wastes no time and, again, find the full mount on the Megafreak. He begins dropping atomic bomb style punches and elbow smashes and the Freak, who is completely inept at mat wrestling, has no idea how to react.]
Crowd: [POP!]
E.D: Get up, Freaky!
Promo: Without Morbis to instruct him what to do, the Freak is slowly becoming powerless against the assault offered up by Besolve.
[The Megafreak begins howling from the force of the punches and the pain etched into those shrieks fills the arena along with the approving cheers of the fans. The Megafreak’s mask is now covered in blood, some his own, and some from Besolve’s knuckles and crimson raining down from his face.]
Promo: THE MONSTER IS BUSTED OPEN!!!
E.D: HE IS A MAN! THE MEGAFREAK IS BLEEDING!
Crowd: Let's go Darrel! Let's go Darrel! Let's go Darrel!
[Besolve is exploding into every punch, writhing and bucking his entire body weight into every shot he throws. Despite the obvious damage done to the Freak, he seems incapable of being knocked unconscious.]
E.D: He’s gonna kill him!
Promo: Or kill himself trying.
E.D: Get to the ropes!!!
[The Freak squirms to the ropes and, inadvertently, grabs a hold of them trying to get away from Darrel’s relentless pummeling.]
Referee: [Taking hold of Darrel by the shoulders from behind] He's in the ropes, let him go Besolve!
[The referee immediately makes Darrel break the mount, but Besolve is completely exhausted and falls backward as the referee pushes him off the Freak.]
Promo: It looks like Besolve might have punched himself out wailing on the Meagfreak.
E.D: He’s down and it looks like, even after that hellacious beating he just took, the Megafreak is going to beat him to his feet!
Promo: Could this be The Freak's version of the rope a dope?
E.D: Morbis said they were prepared for everything this time around.
[Besolve is on his knees and the Megafreak pulls himself up using the ropes. Coiled like a cobra, Darrel springs forward with all his weight and land the most thunderous Superman punch ever unleashed in a wrestling ring!!!]
Promo: GOOD GAWD!!!
E.D: COME ON IRENE!
[Still exhausted, Besolve lands flat on his back, as does the mighty Megafreak. They are both down and appear out.]
Promo: Is this how it ends?
[The referee begins his count 1…2…3…]
E.D: Not like this, nobody wants to see it like this!
[4…5…6…]
Promo: Neither one of them has moved a muscle since that punch.
[7…]
E.D: GET UP!
[8…]
[Eric Danger leaps up from the announcer's position and shouts into the ring with his best Morbis impression…]
E.D: EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE!
[9…THE MEGAFREAK SITS UP ON COMMAND!]
Promo: [As Eric sits down] Why, Eric, why?
E.D.: Somebody had to get ‘em up and Viagra was busy in Batee’s office working on a spot for the pay per view.
[The Megafreak rises to his feet, as though he was commanded by the Evil Doctor himself, and has carnage in his eyes. He lifts a seemingly unconscious Besolve to his feet and reaches back…]
E.D: YES!
Promo: HERE IT COMES!!!
[The Megafreak sinks his fingers into Darrel’s mouth…]
E.D: Mandible Slam! Mandible Slam! This one is about to be over!
Promo: Wait a minute... Besolve is fighting it!
[The fingers in his mouth seem to wake him up again and Besolve drives his left hand into the Megafreak’s rib cage. The beast howls yet again as Besolve throws a second wrecking ball of a left hand. He steps forward into a right elbow to the same area of the ribcage and the Megafreak is forced to withdraw his fingers…]
Promo: HE BROKE LOOSE! I DON’T BELIEVE IT!
E.D: [Shaking his head] There is no God.
[Throwing everything he has left behind a left knee lift to that same exact spot on the Freak’s ribs, Darrel doubles him over…]
Promo: Front Chancery!
E.D.: This can’t be happening…
[Locking in his finisher, Besolve hoists the Megafreak into the air and a decade worth of crowd gasps occur all at once as the Megafreak is finally hit with…]
Promo: LIGHT OF JUDGMENT! LIGHT OF JUDGMENT ON THE MEGAFREAK!!!!!!!!!!!
[Besolve, almost out himself, barely flings his arm atop his fallen nemesis…]
Referee: 1…
E.D: He’ll kick! If ANYONE can ever kick, he’ll kick!!!
Referee: 2…
Promo: Nobody ever kicks, Eric…nobody.
[Ding! Ding! Ding!]
E.D: The bell just rung?
Megafreak: [Pushes Besolve off his chest] ARGH!
Crowd: THREE!!!
Promo: The crowd erupts, the match is over!
E.D: Did Besolve just pin the Megafreak?
Promo: I think The Freak kicked out in time but it was WAY too close to tell!
E.D: The referee never signaled for the three count because once the bell rang, he turned from the action calling for an end to the match.
Promo: Kick out or not, The Megafreak is still on the canvas and never in my entire career have I seen of anyone doing something like this the Freak.
[Teddy has helped the barely conscious Alexis to her feet and he tosses the belts into the ring as Darrel struggles to his feet too. Just as he has both the FTF and BACW Heavyweight titles in his hands, The Megafreak sits up…]
Promo: HERE WE GO AGAIN!
[Besolve leans into the Freak with the belt and appears to be whispering something to him. He nearly falls back to his seated position on his knees and looks into the Monster’s eyes. The Monster tilts his head in disbelief and Darrel holds out the BACW Heavyweight title…]
Promo: This is unbelievable!
E.D: I’m gonna puke.
[The Megafreak reaches out and takes the belt.]
Crowd: Bad ASS Wrestling! Bad ASS Wrestling! Bad ASS Wrestling!
[The Freak actually helps Besolve to his feet and Darrel staggers between the ropes and to his team. Alexis, Darrel, and Teddy walk away from the ring, supporting one another as they go. The Man-Monster steps over the ropes and kneels before his demented father. Morbis opens his eyes and growls at the beast…]
Morbis: [Ignoring the Freak and hugging the belt] I WON AGAIN! I FINALLY BEAT DARREL BESOLVE! I CAN FINALLY RETIRE AS CHAMPION!
[The camera zooms in to a shot of Dr. Morbis slumping into his Freak's arms. The Megafreak raises his arms into the air and the crowd gives one of the largest pops of all time…]
Alexis Besolve: [Looking at Teddy Valentine with tears in her eyes] Please say this is the last one...
Teddy Valentine: I promise Lexi... I promise...
Darrel Besolve: Teddy... the crowd... I have to...
Teddy Valentine: Don't say anything champ... Let's just go...
[Placing his head down and then glancing back at the ring that made him famous, Besolve puts his head back down and heads up the isle for the last time. Since 1999 Darrel Besolve has entertained the masses, and almost a decade later his legacy is still capturing the hearts of his fans. As for The Freak and the mystery of who this creature really is... that's something that might never be answered. Although deep down inside, I believe we all know the answer to this mystery.]
Promo: They will always love the Megafreak…
E.D: …Considering he dominated Besolve like no other man in the history of wrestling, it surely makes him THE greatest BACW wrestlers of all time.
Promo: Well let us not forget about Darrel Besolve because in the end... no matter what the result... Many are going to say Darrel Besolve's Light of Judgment finisher remains the most devastating move of all time. Father. Leader. Champion... Darrel Besolve's worth to BACW is priceless and his legacy in my eyes will continue to remain flawless.
[Inside the ring, The Freak looks up at Besolve as he vanishes through the curtains, brings his arms down, and the corners explode in flames before the entire arena goes pitch black…]
PA: UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN...
Promo: Hey, what’s going on?
E.D: Who is touching my wallet?
[The lights come back on in a matter of moments, but Besolve, The Megafreak and the evil doctor Edgar Morbis are all gone— as of this moment, they are only memories for those of us lucky enough to remember.]
Promo: This couldn’t have happened any other way.
E.D: I couldn't agree more.
Promo: Folks, it's time to take a break, but when we return it's going to be our main event as Lee Riel gets his chance to show why he's also one of the greatest wrestlers of all time when he goes head to head with NAWA World Champion - Rick Ulfric. We'll see you in a few.
