Promo: Fans, I have just been told that Candice Hoffman is backstage with an update on the condition of Darrel Besolve after that horrendous fall from the rafters during his backstage battle with Ric Ulfric. With “The Crippler” Matt McClain now confirmed as here in the building, I believe the best advice I could give the boy wonder is to live to fight another day. Let’s go to the back for the update. Take it away Candice!
[The Oval-tron lights up and the X-Zone original, Candice Hoffman, bursts into the medic’s room in the backstage area to find Darrel Besolve sitting on the fold away gurney having his ribs taped.]
Doctor: [Holding up his hand] Ms. Hoffman, you cannot be back here right now!
Candice: [Ignoring him] Darrel, we NEED to know, are you going to be able to keep fighting.
Doctor: [Keeping her at bay] This man has cracked ribs and may well have a concussion! He can’t possibly be expected…
Darrel: [Glaring at the doctor, he turns to look at Candice] He ain’t taping up my ribs for the long ride home, Candy. They want me outta this thing; they’re gonna have to pin me… ARGH!
[The doctor pulls another strip of athletic tape tight across his muscular chest.]
Darrel: [Through gritted teeth] Or make me quit!
Crowd: [Huge crowd pop!]
Doctor: [Pleading] Mr. Besolve, I was, in fact, taping you up to go home. You can not possibly wrestle in your current condition.
Darrel: [Reaching up and grabbing his shirt] She’s live right now genius, do you want to also tell the rest of the field EXACTLY what else is wrong with me as well? Maybe you can photocopy my medical charts in case somebody is a little unclear?
[Peeking at the chart behind the doctors back.]
Candice: Oh my God!
Doctor: [Shrill] GET OUT!
[The doctor chases her toward the door.]
Doctor: GO!
Candice: [Rushing from the room] I got what I needed, let’s go boys!
[Always willing to make a quick getaway after a juicy scoop, Candice exits as quickly as she came. With the door closed and the camera lights on, she wraps up her part.]
Candice: Broken ribs folks! Darrel Besolve has broken ribs! But despite this injury Darrel Besolve WILL indeed compete in the next round of this tournament! I’m your sexy on the scene X-Zone reporter Candice Hoffman saying, if it’s not a rumor, then it doesn’t belong on my show, back to you Promo!
