[The video feed goes black and we are back at the announcers table with Paul and Eric who are shaking their collective heads.]
Promo: Thank you very much Candice Hoffman, our roving X-Zone reporter! So tell me Eric, what you make of the whole broken ribs thing?
ED: It’s a balls move by Besolve and I don’t like the cocky bastard! Bottom lined, I think it just means he is gonna get torn up from ceiling to floor in the next round. But I’ll say it again, it is definitely a balls to the wall move.
Promo: Like him, love him, or hate him, Darrel Besolve has always given the fans of this company their money’s worth when they pay to see the man do what he does. And speaking of the boy wonder, here he comes!
[Cue Iron Man]
PA: I AM IRON MAN!
ED: Get the body bags!
Promo: With his music blaring and the crowd now on their feet, here comes the boy wonder limping down the isle.
Michael Stuffher: Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time to begin the quarter finals!
Crowd: [YEAH!]
Stuffher: Introducing first, from Edmore, Michigan… Darrel Besolve!
[Carefully getting into the ring, Besolve leans up against the turnbuckle mentally preparing for battle.]
Promo: No one in this tournament has the skill level to best Darrel Besolve, but like with any tournament, there is now a threat that if he gets too hurt too early, then the remaining opponents will always seem harder and harder.
ED: Ending these matches quickly is the way to go! Look for Besolve to hit desperation power moves early and often. This strategy is barely ever used in traditional wrestling matches because going for big moves early is a good way to get hit with reversals, however, in a tournament setting where everyone has already fought multiple opponents this strategy becomes viable because no one is fresh.
Promo: He’s going to have to get his adrenaline up for this one.
Stuffher: And his opponent! From Miami, Florida… he is “Superstar” Alec Ace!
[Head bandaged up and also limping down to the ring, both men are injured and obvious the question has to be, just who is hurt more? Through the ropes and immediately getting chest to chest with Besolve, the Boy Wonder pushes Ace back looking to avoid a close range head butt.]
Crowd: [Mixture of boos and cheers]
[Ding!] [Ding!] [Ding!]
Promo: The crowd seems to be completely divided and I’m not too surprised.
ED: Yeah, the fags are cheering for Darrel Besolve and the non-fags are cheering for Alec Ace.
Promo: [Frustrated] Must everything be about sexual preference with you?
ED: [Matter of fact] Only when I’m drunk.
Promo: [Whispers] Are you?
[Engaging in a collar tie, Besolve shows his strength by backing Ace up into the corner, and as the referee breaks up the hold, Ace is quick to rake the eyes. Alec reverses his position and with Darrel’s back against the ropes, fires into his chest with a hard knife edge chop. Irish whip out of the corner but Besolve reverses the hold sending Ace chest first into the turnbuckle. The impact staggers Alec backwards and locking around his opponent with a waist lock, Besolve unloads with a leaping side suplex.]
Promo: Besolve with the press!
Referee: 1… 2…
Ace: [Kicking out] NO!
ED: Alec Ace gets his shoulder up in time and this one’s going to continue!
Promo: And as you predicted Eric, Darrel Besolve is trying to get the match over with as quickly as possible.
ED: I’m not surprised Promo because the longer your match with someone in this tournament goes, the more it takes from your long term reserves.
[Pulling Ace off the canvas, Besolve looks for a belly to belly but Alec counters with an open hand slap to both ears. Backpedaling from the loss of equilibrium, the superstar sends Besolve down to the canvas with a follow up clothesline. Two step bounce off the ropes into a rolling knee and Alec Ace motions to the crowd that it’s time for a high risk maneuver.]
Crowd: [YEAH!]
Promo: Body slam in the center of the ring, there goes Ace up to the top ropes!
ED: He’s giving Besolve all day to recover!
[Leaping into the air, Ace goes for a power fist but Darrel gets the boot up connecting to the jaw line of the superstar! Falling backward, Darrel goes through the legs with a half school-boy and the referee is in perfect 1.. 2… 3… position!]
ED: HE GOT HIM!
Referee: TWO!
Promo: No kick out the former regional champion and this match is going to continue.
ED: Besolve’s injuries are being overridden by the shear will to this tournament.
Promo: He looks great in there!
[Sucking up the unbelievable pain shooting his ribcage, Darrel continues his move sequence by tossing Ace into the ropes. Setting up in the middle of the ring for a back body drop, Alec drive a football kick into the ribs of Besolve and the falling to one knee, Darrel begins to cough blood.]
Crowd: [OH!]
[Charging towards Darrel and tumbling into a somersault, Ace takes hold of Besolve’s head and snapping off the side, practically takes the boy wonder’s head clean off his body.]
Referee: 1… 2…
Crowd: THREE!!!
Promo: OH!
ED: Boy that was close!
[Waving off the three count, the referee motions for the match to continue with Besolve barely able to catch his breath. Motion for his finisher, Alec yanks Besolve into the upright position, and cranking downward, connects with his Superstar Crunch finisher!]
Crowd: OH!
Promo: No one has kicked out of the crunch!
ED: Besolve’s injuries were too much to overcome!
Referee: 1… 2…
Crowd: THREE!!!
Referee: [Holding up both hands] Foot on the ropes! TWO! Only TWO!
Promo: Besolve has been knocked out cold but because Alec Ace hooked the legs too tight, Besolve’s foot went into the ropes and whether Ace is happy or not, this one is still going on!
ED: Amateur move by a veteran like Ace but hold on because he’s going to get this one right!
Promo: Rolling an unconscious Darrel Besolve onto the logo, Alec Ace goes up to the top ropes, once again in an effort to finally put his opponent away, Alec is going for a high risk move!
[Jumping into the air and crashing into “B” in BACW, the crowd explodes!]
Crowd: [YEAH!]
ED: Looking for an elbow drop, Darrel rolls from harms way and Ace is in serious trouble!
[Seeing an opening, Besolve rolls into the breaking point and pulling back with everything he has left, Alec Ace taps before his arm can be popped at the joint.]
[Ding!] [Ding!] [Ding!]
Promo: What a match and rolling from the combat zone, Darrel Besolve can barely walk after that one.
Stuffher: You’re winner of the bout and advancing to the semi-finals, Darrel Besolve!
Promo: As Besolve exits the ring with help, you can only assume Alec Ace who is doing the same, has some serious soul searching to do on whether or not he wants to continue here in BACW.
ED: Losing to Austin Arenas, and now to Darrel Besolve, means the continued downward spiral that has taken a once promising career into some very dark waters.
Promo: The Superstar is resilient, but I agree, if he doesn’t knock off someone big the next time out, he’s going to be in big BACW trouble.
ED: I have faith in Alec Ace, but if he loses again, I ain’t rooting for him anymore.
