Wrestling Style: Power/Submission (Think UFC Fighter w/ Pro Wrestling Power Moves)
Explanation: Darrel has a hybrid style of power wrestling and technical submission skills. This odd combination comes from his massively powerful upper body and his past as an amateur wrestler. Darrel can abuse most of his opponents with his superior physical attributes and those that he can’t overwhelm in force he can overcome with wrestling savvy. Grappling with Besolve is problematic because he is “the real deal” in regard to wrestling—an Olympic champion. He was trained by the best seems to have a counter to every move. He is lucky enough to seemingly, “have it all”.

High Spot Signature moves (special moves your wrestler uses that aren't
necessarily his finisher. These moves ARE more likely to lead to a pin
however.)
CK Special ’01 (Career Killer Special)- Darrel’s father, Eugene Besolve’s finishing maneuver was a piledriver. Darrel learned how to you this move to perfection from a very young age. His unique spin on the move is that he drapes his opponent over his shoulder, runs into the turnbuckle slamming the opponent’s sternum into the buckles, then turns for a jumping tornado piledriver. It feels complicated to explain, but visually it works. It can only be done with a person smaller than Darrel because of the rigors the move requires.
Anderson Spinebuster- (Besolve Spike) Old school move that Darrel uses VERY defensively. Preferred angle is to vault from one knee into the scoop slam part of the move, but Darrel can pull it off from any position. This is his quick-fire move to be sold like DDP’s Diamond Cutter.
Oklahoma Stampede- (The Trendsetter) Darrel uses this move in every match, big crowd reaction for it. In most instances to show off Darrel will run into two turnbuckles instead of just one and, in blow off matches or during heated feuds, will hit all for corners before the powerslam.
Running Clothesline- Darrel has a great deal of power, especially in his arms, when he gets the chance to swing them full force with a running start it is almost enough to take someone’s head off. *Always have announcers pump the impact of his clotheslines, it is a hallmark.
20 attack burst- This is more of a reoccurring spot than a single move, but you’ll get the idea. This starts off with punches, (1-5 punches or so) the crowd starts to count along with the punches, moves to slamming opponents face into turnbuckle, crowd keeps counting, goes from top (1-3 slams) to middle (1-3), to bottom (1-3) to ring mat (1-3) then back up with (1-3 slams) at each stop ending with the opponent playing “out on their feet” and Darrel’s final move (The crowd’s count of 20) is a power clothesline, a Besolve Blaster, or he takes the opportunity to dance for the crowd and end it with a shuffling punch to opponent’s face.
Shooting Star Press- Darrel almost never goes to the top rope. If he does, it is only for the spectacle of a near 300 pound shooting star press. He nails the move every time in terms of the twist—hitting his opponent is another story. Think Vader’s moonsault.
Finishers
Set Ups:
Besolve Blaster- A hard well placed super kick
Superman Punch: Lunging left or right hand punch
Finishing Move: The Light of Judgment- A brainbuster into a skyrise DDT. Do not have anyone kick out of this move. If Darrel hits this, game over. The finality of his finisher is a big part of the gimmick; if you want to put the other guy over as kicking out or avoiding a finisher, please use the Deal Breaker.
Finishing Hold: The Deal Breaker- Combination of Chris Jericho’s old liontamer (When he would put his knee on the back of opponent’s head rather than the newer punk-a-fied Walls of Jericho with no knee on neck) and a Texas Cloverleaf. Basically an inverted cloverleaf with Darrel’s right knee on his opponent’s head, I am sure you get the picture.
Strengths:
1) Physicality: Darrel is a freak of nature. He is gargantuan in his proportions muscularly and, somehow, remains incredibly quick. It seems unfair. Someone that big shouldn’t be that fast or someone that fast shouldn’t be that big, but, somehow; he is. He can overwhelm most opponents on the grounds that he is just too big, too strong, and too fast for them. If you are known for your power, then he is probably a little bit stronger than you AND a whole hell of a lot faster. If you’re known for your speed, then he is probably only a bit slower than you AND he has a grotesque power advantage over you. In regard to every measurable—he is freakishly perfect for combat.
2) Wrestling Ability: Darrel is an excellent wrestler/counter wrestler and he knows how to use almost any hold you can think of. This is a person who didn’t decide to become a wrestler—it was his place at birth. Eugene Besolve’s son was destined to be a wrestler and the craft was beat into him every day of his life. In the ring is not second nature to Darrel, it is his first nature. This is a kid who grew up poor and pulled himself out of the gutter by his ability to wrestle. Counters, parries, guards, and reversals are like breathing to him. He has trained his entire life for wrestling—not to be an athlete, not to play football, but to wrestle. Wrestling only. He is the Tiger Woods of the sport, a machine, one that was bred to be king from birth. This is all he has ever known. The moves are engrained in him. How does someone who just picked up the game in their adult years, their 20’s, or even their teens compare with someone that was being lectured by the best wrestling minds in the world from the moment he could understand their words? The answer is that they can’t. He has an advantage over anyone in a wrestling match because, coupled with his physical attributes, he has a greater knowledge of the fundamentals of the game.
3) Tenacity: Whether you attribute it to Darrel’s complete and utter self-love and arrogance or, if you have a more noble view of the man, then his unsinkable will to win—he is hard to maintain an advantage over. He is steadfast in his attack and no amount of punishment seems to derail his single-minded purpose. Watch the tapes to view the old matches; you’ll see Darrel Besolve seems impervious at times.
Weaknesses
Dedication: Darrel doesn’t like wrestling. He didn’t choose to be a wrestler, it was forced on him. Just because you are the best living practitioner of your sport does not, necessarily, mean that you have to enjoy that sport and he does not. Darrel wrestled initially to satisfy his father, then to make money and change his living conditions, but now after his luck punching out of the market before the mid-90s collapse—Darrel doesn’t need money and he has nothing at all left to prove. This makes him lackadaisical, uninterested, and ultimately, if you think about it, ripe for the picking.
Arrogance: Darrel seems to enjoy embarrassing his opponents as much as physically punishing them. This isn’t about winning and losing for Darrel all the time. Every serious fan already knows that he is the best wrestler in the world; he doesn’t have to prove that anymore. Now all he has is doing is showing just how much better he is than his closest peers. Darrel is not just head and shoulders above the second best wrestler in the world; he is light years ahead of them and he reveals in his opportunities to show it. His closest matches have often come after Darrel had the match well in hand, but pulled an opponent up at 2 or released a submission hold that would have won the match before his opponent could submit to continue assaulting them. It is blind arrogance that makes him want to humiliate as well as defeat his opponents and that habit is one that often backfires.
Overexposed/Always the Figurehead: Darrel is the number one man in any federation that he joins from the moment he joins it. He will be the world champion, just a question of how long it will take him to get a shot at the champ. All eyes are on him. Everyone from the main eventers, who want to protect their place from him, to the curtain jerkers that want to make a name for themselves by beating him have Darrel Besolve as their number 1 target. There isn’t a wrestler in the world that couldn’t base an ENTIRE CAREER around beating this guy once, so he is always in everyone’s cross hairs. An opponent’s best chance is that Darrel is too preoccupied with the great many people who target him to give that week’s opponent the proper focus.
Favorite Match Type: Hell in the Cell: An opponent can’t get away. Help can’t interfere. It is just Darrel against you. You lose.
Least Favorite Match type: Burnt to a Crisp Match: Darrel is not a junk brawler and all these hardcore-assfests are is a glorified junk brawl. The fiery inferno prop is used to distract away from the sub-par wrestling and Darrel has never needed such parlor tricks.
Background:
Darrel was born into a poor family.
His parents names are Sandra Besolve and
Eugene Besolve. When he was a young boy
he fought for almost everything he
had. Eugene Besolve was an old shoot fighter and insisted on teaching his son the finer points of the game.
In the beginning of his high
school years he joined the wrestling and
boxing teams. He was spectacular at both and
won many titles and awards. He won the golden
gloves title in Detroit. He went to the Olympics for
wrestling in 1992, he won a gold medal. From there
he made more money than he had ever seen, he
had a undefeated boxing career for about a
year, but he felt that the risk involved with boxing was too great. Longevity and success within the sport seemed to go hand in hand with brain damage and being broke after the sport passes you by.
Darrel had tried with all his heart to avoid a career in professional wrestling to spite his father, but eventually the pull was too great. He was an amazing talent and he knew the game, so it was the perfect fit even if he didn’t want it. Darrel looked around
for new arenas to test his skill in and just
happened to find a advertisement for the NeWA Four Corner’s Region (BACW). After joining Bad Ass
Championship Wrestling Darrel enjoyed an
undefeated run straight to the world title. He is
known the world over as “The Future of Professional
Wrestling”. His feuds with The Megafreak and Snake Eyes defined the federation’s trajectory and laid the foundation upon which it still runs today.
From there Darrel moved up into the National e-Wrestling Alliance spotlight. He wrestled in NeWA North Carolina (NCW) and BACW, before winning the NeWA Hardcore title. He had a solid run with the title before dropping it to Frag Sinister and leaving the NeWA for contractual reasons. BACW broke from the NeWA’s umbrella and Darrel, always the company man, sided with BACW. He came back and dominated the BACW and later WeWA Ranks like no man before him had and no man since has with huge victories over Cavenaugh and Adrian Blades. Internally the WeWA was being eaten by the cancer of jealousy. Brad Batee had created BACW and he felt like it was his baby. Suddenly the whole world associated BACW more with Darrel Besolve than with Brad Batee. Darrel was becoming the most recognizable face in the sport and Brad wouldn’t play second fiddle to anyone. After a very ugly and public falling out, the two split. Darrel used the opportunity to springboard himself into fresh water and Brad used the opportunity to motivate his troops with a “we can get by without Darrel” pep-talk. Life moved forward for both men, but the course of professional wrestling history was changed forever.
Darrel returned to the NeWA at Bloodmoon 2000. The NeWA Canada (IWA) was his home federation. He did well there, facing many of the top names in the sport, particularly Eric Dane and Jim Dalton. His run was cut short by the IWA shutdown later that year. This did not stop the headstrong, young star. He continued trying to better himself by moving straight to NeWA Florida (CeWF). Again Darrel bested some of the top names in the business, including Team Danger members and Byron Tanis, before moving along once again: this time due to mismanagement. He found his way to NeWA Georgia (NWF). He had an incredible run, notably a feud with Christian Light, which ended with Darrel winning the NWF Heavyweight title. Time passed quickly and Darrel gained the NeWA Television title. He had a nice run with the title. However, shortly after being scheduled to face Michael Lennox at Lord of the Ring 2001, he dropped both the NWF Heavyweight title and the NeWA Television title. At LOTR Darrel took home the big gold, the NeWA World Championship. He had notable feuds with Mike Bell and Adam Knight. Darrel dropped the title after about a month. This started another brief stint away from the sport for him.
The 2001 Lou Thesz Tournament called him back to the game and back to the returning NeWA Canada (IWA). He won their heavyweight championship from the Boogman and held it for a record breaking period of time; beating the likes of Byron Tanis, Rob Bastard, and Joe “Nitemare” Allen.
He returned briefly in 2002 for a run in WfWA’s BWA (Formally NeWA Louisiana) and was their longest reigning champion ever. Feuded with and defeated Matt McClain, Diablo, Ulfric, and Eric Dane.
Now the Ex-Champion of just about everywhere he has roamed has returned looking to reclaim new gold.
He is also well known for his various charitable works. The outside, non-wrestling world adores the man. He is intelligent, well spoken, and good looking so he provides an otherwise goon-ish sport with the perfect articulate spokesperson. He gets endorsement deals not offered to other wrestlers, he gets promotional spots not offered to other wrestlers, and he gets asked onto programs that wouldn’t invite on other wrestlers—he is very easy to envy. He is rich beyond words from punching out of the stock market at the right time ala Mark Cuban, but Darrel is only 29.
Psychological Profile:
Darrel considers himself the greatest fighter
that ever lived. His ego is further boasted by
the fact that he has never been defeated. He has
chosen to ignore his humble beginning and
focus on where his skills have taken him. On
the inside Darrel is really not that bad of a guy
he just wants everyone to recognize his skill. He has
a vicious temper that has a frighteningly short fuse.
Alexis is the only one who can control him when he
snaps into a fit of rage.

Psychological Profile:
Alexis plays the role of supportive nurturer to a tee.
She is always there to try to keep Darrel as level as possible.
Even when Darrel doubts himself she is his “rock” of support.
She is always level headed and is not easily shaken from her
normally passive moods. She has never liked the fact that Darrel
could get seriously hurt wrestling but she tries her hardest just to support him in whatever he does.
Though it doesn’t show much, she is often the motivator behind his actions. You must beware of the big dog, but be even wearier of his master.
Alexis and Darrel have been through the darkest and brightest of times TOGETHER. Their bond is an unbreakable one and they never are far from one another.
